The Business Game

Real Moves. Real Skills. Real Results.

Working name — may change.

What if your next big adventure was your real life?

Imagine building a business with the clarity, progression, challenges, and rewards of a game—but with real skills, real opportunities, and real results.

A supportive framework to help you discover your strengths, evaluate ideas, practice business skills, make calculated decisions, and see how far you've come.

Imagine it. Test it. Build it. Learn from it. Level up in real life.

The Problem

Building a business shouldn't feel like wandering through the unknown.

People have ideas, ambitions, and creative potential, but often lack the structure, support, feedback, and practical knowledge needed to turn those ideas into successful ventures.

They may struggle to:

  • Know where to begin or what to do next.
  • Understand their own strengths and areas for growth.
  • Identify problems worth solving.
  • Research markets and validate demand.
  • Understand which risks are worth taking.
  • Know how much time or money to invest.
  • Evaluate results objectively.
  • Find appropriate tools, resources, or collaborators.
  • Recognize progress when success is still far away.
  • Recover confidence after an unsuccessful attempt.

Building a business can also be lonely, particularly for people working independently, outside traditional working hours, or without access to experienced mentors.

Many people spend significant resources building something before discovering whether anyone actually wants it. Others stop trying after one unsuccessful venture, overlooking the skills and knowledge they've gained.

We want to explore a more supportive approach.

The Three Promises

Real Moves.

Turn business development into practical, achievable real-world quests.

Rather than simply learning about entrepreneurship, players take meaningful actions such as interviewing customers, researching opportunities, testing offers, building prototypes, and exploring business models.

Each quest is intended to help them move forward in their actual lives.

Real Skills.

Discover personal strengths, abilities, preferences, confidence levels, and opportunities for growth.

Develop practical entrepreneurial skills through experience, reflection, feedback, and suggested learning resources. Leverage what you already do well, improve the skills you want to develop, and build around your preferred working styles.

Someone may be excellent at sales but dislike doing it. Another person may love sales but need more practice. Ability, preference, confidence, and demonstrated experience are different things.

Skills and learning stay with the player, even when a particular venture doesn't work out.

Real Results.

Collect meaningful real-world data.

Track experiments, customer responses, financial assumptions, costs, sales, business milestones, and actual outcomes — and learn the difference between assumptions and evidence.

Support calculated risk-taking and knowing when to continue, adjust, pivot, or stop. Make progress visible through meaningful metrics, not meaningless points alone.

How It Could Work

Five simple stages.

  1. 1

    Discover Yourself

Create a player profile that explores your skills, strengths, interests, working preferences, confidence, experience, and goals. Profiles evolve over time rather than permanently labeling people.

  2. 2

    Choose Your Adventure

Start with a new idea, improve an existing business, explore an opportunity, or develop a particular skill. The experience adapts to your starting point, resources, time, and goals.

  3. 3

    Complete Real-World Quests

Practical challenges suited to your venture and experience — customer discovery, market research, validating assumptions, testing prices, practicing sales, or improving operations — with templates, examples, guidance, and pointers to real-world support.

  4. 4

    Track Your Progress

Record actions, results, evidence, lessons, and skill growth. Game XP is kept separate from demonstrated competence and verified business outcomes.

  5. 5

    Make Your Next Move

Use your evidence to continue, improve, pivot, seek help, change direction, or begin another venture with more experience.

"Your venture can fail without your character failing."

Even when a business doesn't succeed, you keep your skills, knowledge, experience, and lessons. You are not starting over from zero.

Possibilities we're exploring

Creating opportunities together.

Longer term, we're exploring ways to connect people through complementary skills, interests, experiences, and venture needs. None of these exist yet — they're ideas we'd like your thoughts on.

  • Finding collaborators with complementary strengths.
  • Connecting people who enjoy different aspects of business.
  • Peer learning and skill exchanges.
  • Mentorship and accountability.
  • Shared business challenges and group quests.
  • Connecting people to real-world opportunities.
  • Finding potential partners for projects and ventures.

The goal: help people create opportunities together while developing more independence, competence, and confidence.
